is responsible for obtaining GLP certification for Discovery Research, DRL by

Mohanan is Scientist & Head, Toxicology Division, Sree Chitra Tirunal
Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology (SCTIMST), Biomedical
Technology Wing, Poojapura, Thiruvananthapuram 695 012, Kerala. He
has 23 years experience in Pre-clinical toxicity/safety evaluation of medical
devices, drugs, chemicals and tissue engineered products as per OECD, ASTM,
USP, FDA, ISO protocols. |

He has 73 publications and edited two books in GLP
area. With the restrictions coming up
in animal experimentation, developing alternative methods to animal
experiments has become a necessity. In recognition of his distinguished and
dedicated services to prevent cruelty to animals by minimizing the use of
animals in research and development, The Academy of Science for Animal Welfare
and Society of Toxicology recognized Dr. Mohanan’s contribution to

fate and multi-site studies. He has extensive experience with several GLP
audits by the Monitoring Authorities of OECD countries since 1992 as well as

over 65 publications including chapters for books and frequently functions as
examiner for evaluation of PhD thesis, and as a reviewer for scientific
